UK's Real Hannibal Lecter: Inside the Glass Prison Cell Built for a Serial Killer

The UK built a special, two-cell unit with large, bulletproof windows (often described as a 'glass cage' or 'Perspex cell') for serial killer Robert Maudsley in 1983 at Wakefield Prison. He has been in extreme solitary confinement for over 45 years due to his threat to other inmates, having killed three prisoners while already incarcerated.
