A person will typically die from lack of sleep sooner than they will from starvation (lack of food, but with water). Humans can only survive for about 11 days without sleep (the record is \approx 11 days), while the body can last from 3 weeks up to two months without food, provided it has water (Source 2.1, 1.5).
