The Loyal Russian Dog: Story of Kostya's Devotion
In 1995, a German Shepherd named Kostya was in a car crash with his owners outside the city of Tolyatti, Russia. His owners were killed, but Kostya survived. For the next seven years, the dog waited at the same spot where the accident occurred, hoping for his owners to return. Residents of the city cared for him, giving him food and building him a makeshift shelter. However, Kostya never left his post, even during harsh Russian winters.
Unfortunately, Kostya was struck and killed by a bus in 2002. Touched by his incredible loyalty, the city erected a bronze statue of him in 2003, with the inscription "A monument to devotion.
