Edinburgh's Parthenon: The Unfinished Monument

While a monument was built in Edinburgh to replicate the Parthenon, it was not an attempt to make it bigger and cheaper. Instead, the plan was to create a full-scale replica of the Parthenon as a memorial to the soldiers who died in the Napoleonic Wars. It was never finished due to a lack of funds, and is now known as the National Monument of Scotland, or nicknamed "Edinburgh's Disgrace."
