She Blinded Her Attacker: An Eye for an Eye in Iran

In 2011, an Iranian court granted a woman permission to blind a man with acid. This ruling came after the man had blinded and disfigured her with acid six years earlier for rejecting his marriage proposal. Despite having the option of seeking financial compensation or imprisonment for the man, the woman chose to carry out the act herself as a form of retribution.
